About Us
The Beginning
SupportPath.com (formerly Support-Group.com) started as a local Internet message board serving the central Florida area in 1996. As people from across the country began responding to a message left by a local support group leader, the need for such a medium for people to share their ideas became obvious and SupportPath.com was born.
SupportPath.com's Mission
The Mission of SupportPath.com is to:
- Be the Internet's best listing for online communities and message boards;
- Provide links to National and local support organizations and health/support-related information for over 300 health, personal, and relationship issues;
- List monthly health-related events; and
- Display original poetry, personal stories, scanned-in artwork, etc. from SupportPath.com
users that others may find helpful in their own healing and recovery.
Our Philosophy
SupportPath.com believes the ability to communicate and connect through the Internet can provide people with the following:
- Information.
- The feeling that "I am not alone" and the chance to become part of a group of people who have similar experiences.
- An opportunity to help others and share their experiences.
- A forum to "vent".
- A sense of hope.
Our primary goal is to lead Internet users to others through our listing of online resources with a focus on Online Communities, Online Support Groups, Message Boards, and Online Chats.
